Halloween Event 2020 was the third annual Halloween event in JToH. It started on 31 October 2020 and ended on 1 December 2020. As usual, it continued the formula of having three different steeples followed by a boss (the Aradiant Guardian) but deviated slightly with the addition of an extra steeple and a citadel which could be unlocked after completing the boss. However, as the badge for defeating the Aradiant Guardian is no longer obtainable, the extra steeple and citadel can now be accessed directly without having to fight her.

Subrealms

Forsaken Manor

The event's entrance was located in the Pit of Die in Ring 1, where the portal to access the Forsaken Manor was in.

As its name implies, the Forsaken Manor was a manor that has been long-since abandoned. It contains three floors. The bottom floor has two rooms alongside the main foyer, which contain the portals for Steeple of Realm Crossing and Steeple of Midnight Fortress. The second floor had the portal room for Steeple of Pumpkin Panic and the Cat Therapy. The top floor was inaccessible until the Aradiant Guardian is defeated. It contains a hidden room behind a painting, leading to the Steeple of Cosmic Terror, and the bedroom, which would drop you into a destroyed version of the Cat Therapy where the portal for the Citadel of Horrifying Phobias lies should you dare sleep.

In its backyard is a small cemetery, but there is a small room at the side of it that can be accessed by pressing a hidden button on the roof. Doing so will reveal a room with all of the steeples and the citadel alongside an orb that when touched displayed a random scrambled word. These words turned out to tease the bosses for the next event. However, in order to access this cemetery, one had to complete the initial 3 steeples available.

Cemetery of the Accursed

The Cemetery of the Accursed is a barren area seemingly in the middle of nowhere. It is the arena where the battle against the Aradiant Guardian takes place. Beneath it is a crypt containing numerous coffins, most of which are references and funny jokes, but a scant few are indeed related to the lore. Namely, the coffins containing Darklaus and his soul fragment (or at least, where it would have been), and the one containing Frost Knight Aklough hidden away.

Cherished Manor

Cherished Manor is Forsaken Manor but changes to this only after you beat the Citadel of Horrifying Phobias, and it looks more pleasant. This place formerly granted the Fragmented Helmet after completing Citadel of Horrifying Phobias.

It can be played here, since the event is over, but can still be accessed after beating Citadel of Horrifying Phobias.

Appearance

This is the win world for Halloween Event 2020. It is exactly the same as the Forsaken Manor, but the time is day instead of night, and the whole manor is no longer haunted. A destroyed version of CoHP can be seen here.

Trivia

• This event used to have a portal to it on Floor 0. This has now been replaced with a sign stating that “the real portal is the friends we made along the way”.
• A badge for the Halloween Boss was updated on the 25th of October. It was updated to have the title "Spooky Potassium Slayer" and description "Defeat the Halloween 2020 Boss: 'Congrats, this is why you shouldn't eat fruits.'" On October 30th it got changed to "A Grave Mistake" Where the description reads "Defeat the Halloween 2020 Boss: "Do you realize what you've just done?"
  • Because of the old description, some people speculated that the boss may have been Vendetta Banana, a meme in the JToH discord server coming from vendetta06, who happened to have a Snatcher profile picture.
• There are hidden phrases in the event teasers. When put together, they say "Don't go into the cemetery. When you enter into the cemetery you may never leave." There is also a hidden string of letters that say "HH/AG". These are the initials of the boss, Headless Horseman/Aradiant Guardian.
• On October 31, 2020, the Ring Select was updated and a mansion and 2 steeples appeared behind Ring 1. The mansion was revealed to be the Forsaken Manor, and the steeples were revealed to be Steeple of Midnight Fortress and Steeple of Pumpkin Panic.
• During the first day of the event, the game peaked at 2,102 concurrent players, which the usual range of concurrent players is between 200 and 800.
• Upon closer inspection, all the pieces of candy on the front porch are all hazardous.
• On the day that CoHP was added, the lobby became much darker. The note at the front door and the candy were removed and replaced with a new note saying "HIDE. PLEASE. GET INSIDE BEFORE HE SEES YOU." with more written in smaller text saying "The protector of the crypt is gone. He's back.".

Hello, everyone. It's been a while since we last met, hasn't it? I have to thank you all for having set me free from that little crypt my jailor has been keeping me in. I've watched that chaotic mess you all have endured. And especially having taken over this host's account. A lot of you have been throwing names around. Well, its about time I finally show myself.

Long time no see, hasn't it?

11 months go by fast, don't they? I still remember after you all obliterated me last year alongside the totem from hell. But for me, it's given me plenty of time to have prepared myself spent in that little crypt. Especially with the little breadcrumbs I've been laying down for you all. All those little snippets and glimpses into what's to come. This "citadel" you all have been waiting for, is going to be my greatest masterpiece. As a thank you for all the help you all have done to get me out of my cell, I will show you that you
